Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman is a documentary I recently viewed at work (it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, it’s okay…plus it’s about art and design so I could have said I’m watching it for work), and was excited to learn about the iconic images of this famed photographer. Julius Shulman was the premier architectural photographer of the modern design movement beginning in the 1940s. He’s shot all the greats from Eames to Neutra to FLW to Gehry. Watching this film just supported the idea that I love clean modern design. Now the goal in my life of owning an Eames Lounge Chair has been updated to living in a Case Study House. Take a second and check out the work of the great Julius Shulman or even better take a couple of minutes and do your own image research.
